January 2020 Pokémon Direct Predictions

After the direct I came here to mark up and grade my predictions. I did not at all change the text (I did not even fix my typos) just the formatting. Things I got explicitly wrong will be struck through and Red and the more specific things I got correct will be highlighted. Given I said nothing about additions to or DLC for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield I did not do a great job predicting this direct. I did get that a Mystery Dungeon would be announced, but the release date I was pretty far off on. The things I got right were mostly things they would not be talking about. While I also brought up many things that were not discussed at all thus getting a lot wrong. If I were to grade myself I would give my predictions a D+ grade, so not very good. To build on what I said in my post last night I wanted to make some predictions for the imminent Pokémon Direct (January 9th 2020). After the direct

First of all I wanted to reiterate the things I do not expect to see:

• No Mainline Pokémon Game will be announced
• To be more specific no Diamond Pearl Remakes
• To elaborate none will come out this year, Game Freak will take 2020 off from releasing a mainline game
• Nothing related to Pokken will be announced
• No sequel and no DLC
• Pokémon Masters will not  have any announcements
• The game may be brought up but nothing new about it will be revealed

Now for what I expect to see:

• Full Pokémon Home details revealed
• Mini games for super training Pokémon
• Pokémon Refresh Lite for some Pokémon
• Trading and Item Collection Mechanics
• No Battling within the App
• Launch February 2020
• Pokémon Sleep and Pokémon Go Plus details
• Pokémon Detective Pikachu Sequel for Switch officially revealed with trailer
• Ryan Reynolds voices Pikachu in the fully Voice Acted game
• Will include ways to either play through or watch the events of the first game
• Spring 2020 Release
• New Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Siwtch Game teased for release mid to late 2020
